Diy oil spray fro fruit trees. Here is a recipe for making an oil spray and applying it to your fruit trees. I was inspired by

Toby Hill. Check out his site at www.tobyswoodgarden.com. He has several very good articles on apple and pear culture.

To make the product:

Mix ingredients together well in a container with a tight fitting lid. Shake the container well to mix all the ingredients.

It's not necessary to use an electric mixer for mixing oil spray. If you don't have one, use a whisk to blend the

ingredients. Stir the mixture a few times as you would to make a pancake batter. If the mix stays a little

separate, add more water to loosen it a little.

To apply the spray to the trees:

1. Make up a batch of the mix on a Friday night or a Saturday morning, then put it in the refrigerator.

2. The next day, when you want to spray the trees, drain the jar into a container with a wide mouth to

allow all the water to drain out, and pour some of the spray mixture into it. Use a hand held funnel to pour

it onto the top of a tall tree or onto several smaller trees, or you can use a spraying can for those situations.

Don't just spray one tree because spraying all the trees in your orchard is something that you should do every

couple of weeks. I use a spraying can with a flow rate of 1/2 gal per minute (about 21/2 oz per minute).

3. When you spray the trees, spray just a few inches above the first pair of leaves that you see. Spray that area

of the tree only once. Don't spray a tree again until you spray the tree the next morning.

4. Shake the spray container vigorously every time before spraying. Don't just let the mixture sit on the

bottom of the sprayer container.

5.Don't over spray the trees with the product. If you do, the fruit will pickle too much.

6. After spraying the trees, give them a shake and scrape the trees down a little to get any remaining

spray off the trees. I do that by raking.

7. After spraying the trees, put some straw, newspaper, or something to keep the wind off the sprayed trees.

You can put them on a table in the orchard or in a shady place near the house. This helps the trees

to dry off and recover a little more quickly.

8. Spray at night after a cool, cloudy, calm day. I don't spray a tree during a rainy day.

Mixed Berry Wallpaper for the weekend or next to my desk...

I have a whole new way of decorating my home now. It's nothing fancy, just one of those modern looking

wallpapers that are found at the art stores and look like it came from some store in Europe.

I was browsing through some old magazines and I saw that a woman was making this kind of decoration on

her kitchen wall. Her kitchen was red and it looked really good. So I decided to try to make some mixed

berry wallpaper.

I bought a large can of mixed berries that was open. The can had berries that are real and other types

of berries.

I used a permanent marker to draw lines across the top of the can of berries. The can did not have a cap on

it, so I cut off the bottom of the can and drilled a couple of holes through the sides of the can.

I then filled the can with water. It wasn't very full, so I wanted to add some more water. I put some water in

a clean plastic cup and added some light blue food coloring to it. The blue dye made the water blue.

I poured the blue water into the can and stirred it around until it was very thick. Then I added a small

amount of corn starch and stirred it around some more. I used a small brush to paint the blue water on the

wall paper and let it dry.

When it was dry, I painted the can a little yellow color. I didn't paint it red, but it doesn't have to be red

either.It looks good either way.

I hope you enjoyed this technique. It's not something fancy, but I thought it was pretty neat.

Making your own tomato sauce is something that I did for the first time this year. I tried a couple of

times to buy tomato sauce, but I just didn't like it. It was either too sweet or too salty. I'm not a big

consumer of tomato sauce, but when I find a good quality sauce that I like, I try to make my own tomato

sauce.

One of my tomatoes this year was not a large tomato, but it had a little extra juice in it, so I put a

quarter of that extra juice in the can, then I put a couple of chicken bouillon cubes in it. I liked it.

You can use tomato juice instead of the tomato juice, but it tastes better if you use the juice from

your own tomatoes.

This recipe is for the sauce that I used to make a batch of spaghetti sauce. I like spaghetti sauce a

lot.

I start with a can of the sauce that I buy at the store.

To make the sauce:

1. Pour the sauce out into a sauce pan.

2. Add salt and pepper to taste. Add a dash of Italian seasoning.

3. Cook over medium heat until it gets hot.

4. Add a little water and mix it around to thicken the sauce a little more.

I've been saving up all my seeds for some time now. This year, I had plenty of all kinds of seeds to save

and so I was saving them in my garage. But all the seeds were frozen and I wanted to use them to see how

long it took to germinate some of the seeds.

I picked out a couple of the seeds that I was saving and took them out of
